SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), May 24 (SeeNews) – Austrian insurance group UNIQA said on Wednesday its first quarter pre-tax profit from operations in Bosnia dropped to 200,000 euro ($223,600) from 300,000 euro a year earlier.
Total gross written premiums from Bosnian operations rose by an annual 6% to 7.7 million euro through March, UNIQA said in its Q1 2017 financial report.
Gross written premiums from the non-life insurance segment in Bosnia grew 16% on the year to 3.9 million euro, while premiums from life insurance dropped 3% to 3.9 million euro.
In Southeast Europe, UNIQA also operates in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. Its gross written premiums in the region - excluding Romania - remained stable at 74 million euro, up 1% on the year.
