SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), November 16 (SeeNews) – Austrian insurance group UNIQA said on Thursday its pre-tax profit from operations in Bosnia have increased to 700,000 euro ($825,400) in the first nine months of 2017 from 500,000 euro in the prior-year period.
Total gross written premiums from Bosnian operations dropped by an annual 2.0% to 21.7 million euro in the period January-September, UNIQA said in its nine-month 2017 financial report.
Gross written premiums from the non-life insurance segment in Bosnia fell 2.0% on the year to 9.8 million euro, while premiums from life insurance decreased 1.0% to 12.0 million euro.
In Southeast Europe, UNIQA also operates in Albania, Croatia, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. Its premiums written in the region - excluding Romania - totalled 212.0 million euro, up 3% compared to the like period a year earlier.
