September 7 (SeeNews) - The water management firm of Bosnia's Serb Republic, Vode Srpske, said that representatives of two Chinese companies - from the construction and IT sectors, have visited it to discuss potential investments in the entity.
The representatives of China Construction Front Group and Dahua Technology held a meeting with the CEO of Vode Srpske and the deputy mayor of northeastern town of Bijeljina to discuss opportunities for economic cooperation, Vode Srpske said in a press release on Saturday.
"In Europe we do business mostly in Germany, Russia, Romania and Serbia, and we are interested in expanding our businesses in the Serb Republic and Bosnia," the company quoted the CEO of China Construction Front Group, Ying Fei, as saying.
The representative of Dahua Technology said that the company is the second one in the world in terms of video surveillance technology and also works in the IT sphere.
He added that Dahua Technology has many business partners in Serbia and wants to cooperate with the Serb Republic.
"In the following period we will hold new meetings and presentations in order to establsh concrete cooperation with the Chinese companies in the area of the city of Bijeljina," deputy mayor Marko Mihajlovic said.
The Serb Republic is one of two autonomous entities forming Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
