ISTANBUL (Turkey), May 9 (SeeNews) – The combined net profit of the Turkish banks declined 13.9% year-on-year to 6.07 billion Turkish lira ($2.92 billion/2.12 billion euro) in the first quarter, the country's Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency said. The banking sector's loan portfolio increased 29.9% on the year to 1.08 trillion lira at the end of March, while deposits were up 21.5% to 959.4 billion lira, data from the regulator's March report on the domestic banking sector showed on Thursday.
