ISTANBUL (Turkey), March 10 (SeeNews) – The combined net profit of the Turkish banks decreased 43.9% year-on-year to 1.4 billion Turkish lira ($632 million/456 million euro) in January, the country's Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency said on Monday. The banking sector's loan portfolio increased 34.8% on the year to 1.08 billion lira in January, while deposits rose 24.8% to 966 million lira, data from the regulator's January report on the domestic banking sector showed. The total assets of the sector grew 31.2% year-on-year to 1.8 billion lira in January.
