ANKARA (Turkey), January 13 (SeeNews) – The combined passenger traffic at the airports operated by Turkey's TAV Airports Holding [BIST:TAVHL] increased by 17% to 83.6 million in 2013, the company said. TAV Airports Holding operates 11 airports, including four in Turkey and seven abroad. The number of international passengers serviced by TAV Airports in the review period rose by 16% to 47.4 million, while the number of domestic passengers grew by 18% to 36.2 million, data released by the company showed. In December alone, the number of passengers serviced by TAV Airports increased 16% on the year to 6.1 million as the number of international passengers rose by 17% to 3.2 million and domestic passenger traffic were up 14% to 2.9 million. Passenger traffic at the Ataturk Airport was up by 13% year-on-year to 3.95 million in December and by 14% to 51.3 million in 2013. Esenboga Airport's passenger traffic rose 22% on the year in December to 881,904 and by 18% in 2013 to 10.9 million. Izmir Airport serviced 718,012 passengers in December and 10.2 million in 2013, up by 12% and 9.0% year-on-year, respectively. Gazipasa Airport registered 16,245 passengers in December and 363,024 in 2013, compared to 3,154 and 79,740 in the same year-ago periods. TAV Airports also operates the Medinah Airport in Saudi Arabia, the Monastir and Enfidha airports in Tunisia, the Tbilisi and Batumi airports in Georgia, and the Skopje and Ohrid airports in Macedonia.
