SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), June 19 (SeeNews) – A consortium comprising Slovenian companies E-Grus, Savaprojekt and Arhitekt Smid, is interested in building an international airport in Bosnia's Brcko District, the government of the country's neutral, self-governing administrative unit said.
The companies have already drawn up a project for the airport's construction and conducted a study of its financial implications, the government of the Brcko District said in a statement on Friday.
According to news portal BiznisInfo, the project is worth 400 million euro ($448 million), as the airport would have one runway.
The airport could be built under a concession agreement, whereby the airport would remain in the hands of the District once the concession period is over, BiznisInfo said.
It added that the consortium would find an investor, but expects the government to take care of the administrative procedures.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is made up of two entities, the Serb Republic and the Federation, as well as the self-governing Brcko District.
