Sarajevo bourse indices mostly rise in June amid higher turnover

July 4 (SeeNews) - Bosnia's Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) said on Thursday that total trading turnover on the bourse went up to 100.6 million marka ($55.6 million/51.4 million euro) in June, from 59.7 million marka generated the previous month, as most of its indices closed higher.

A total of 173,878 shares changed hands in 287 transactions on the bourse in June, the SASE said in a monthly trading update.

The 10-share benchmark SASX-10 index of the SASE closed June at 1,085.88 points, up 9.31% compared with its value at the end of May.

The broader SASX-30 index, which is composed of the 30 most liquid stocks on the SASE, edged down 0.36% month-on-month to 1,912.99 points at the end of June.

The SASE index tracking investment funds, the BIFX, was 0.71% higher on a monthly comparison basis at the end of June, at 590.88 points.

The Islamic stock index SASX-BBI of the SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI) closed at 11,824.31 points at the end of June, up 5.39% from the end of the previous month. The index tracks 25 companies.

The stock exchange's total market capitalisation amounted to 7.05 billion marka at the end of June, up compared with 6.39 billion marka at the end of the previous month.

Cement producer HM Cement BiH [SAJ:TCMKR] generated the highest trading turnover among the SASE-listed companies in June. Its shares changed hands in 18 transactions that formed a total turnover of 377,059 marka. They traded at 46 marka at the end of June, unchanged compared with the end of the previous month.

The SASE is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The country's other bourse, the Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE), is based in the other entity, the Serb Republic.
