May 19 (SeeNews) - Russian discount store chain Mere opened its first supermarket in Bosnia and Herzegovina, local media reported.
Mere's first supermarket in the country opened in Istocno Sarajevo, daily Nezavisne reported on Wednesday, quoting Kemal Muratovic, director at Express Consulting, as saying. Express Consulting is representing Mere in Bosnia, according to the media report.
The retailer plans to open supermarkets in Doboj and Prijedor at the beginning of June, with a view to further expanding to more cities in the future, Muratovic said.
Mere is a chain of discount stores represented in Europe under the brand of Russian retail chain operator Svetofor, according to Mere's website. In Southeast Europe, Mere already operates in Romania and Serbia.
