November 7 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's trade deficit rose to 175.1 billion denars ($2.83 billion/2.84 billion euro) in the January-September period, from 113.7 billion denars in the same period of last year, the country's statistical office said on Monday. Exports increased 20% on the year to 379.4 billion denars in the nine months through September, while imports grew 29% to 554.6 billion denars, Makstat said in a statement. North Macedonia's exports mainly consisted of supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as an active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets used in motor vehicles, aircraft or ships, and ferronickel. The country predominantly imported petroleum and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, metals of the platinum group, electricity and colloidal precious metals. North Macedonia's main trading partners in the January-September period were Germany, the UK, Greece, Serbia and Bulgaria. (1 euro = 61.68 denars)
