July 17 (SeeNews) - Mozeme, the coalition led by North Macedonia's ruling left-wing SDSM party, will have 46 seats in the country's 120-seat parliament, followed by Obnova Za Makedonija, the coalition led by the main opposition VMRO-DPMNE, with 44 seats, based on the final election results, the State Election Commission (SEC) said.
Besides the two biggest parties, three ethnic Albanian parties will enter parliament, the SEC said in a statement on Thursday.
The Albanian Democratic Union of Integration (DUI), which was SDSM's coalition partner so far, will have 15 seats. The Alliance for the Albanians will take 12 seats, while Democratic Party of Albanians (DPA) will have one mandate.
The elections will also see the entry into parliament of the new left-wing Levica party, which will take two seats.
The coalition led by SDSM won 35.89% of the votes, while the VMRO-DPMNE-led coalition was supported by 34.57% of the voters, according to figures posted on the SEC website, based on 99% of the ballots counted.
Voter turnout was 51.36% some half an hour before the polls closed, SEC data shows. A total of of 1.8 million citizens were eligible to vote.
