December 5 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's Public Enterprise for State Roads (PESR) is inviting proposals for consulting services for the second phase of the construction of the Bukojchani - Kichevo road of pan-European Corridor VIII, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Monday.
The consultant would have to prepare technical documentation for state road A2, section Bukojchani – Kichevo, second phase, subsection Dolno Strogomishte – Crvivci, including a levelled road junction and an appropriate connection to the existing state road A2 Gostivar – Kichevo, a notice published on the EBRD's e-procurement portal ECEPP showed.
The subsection is 4.5 km long.
The assignment is expected to start in the first quarter 2023 and have duration of nine months.
PESR has signed an agreement with EBRD for a 110 million euro ($116.1 million) loan for the construction of the Bukojchani-Kichevo road section of pan-European Corridor VIII.
Corridor VIII is an east-west route connecting Albania's Adriatic port of Durres to the Bulgaria's Black Sea port of Varna via North Macedonia.
Public Enterprise for State Roads is a state-owned company responsible for the operation and maintenance of the national and regional road network in North Macedonia.
