The four-year mandates of 118 newly elected MPs were verified at the inaugural session of the new Assembly, while the remaining two mandates will be verified later, the parliament said in a press release on Tuesday.
The Tvoja Makedonija coalition led by right-wing VMRO-DPMNE controls 58 of 120 seats in the new parliament following the general election which took place on May 8. The coalitions led by former ruling Social Democrat party SDSM and ethnic Albanian DUI have 18 seats each. The ethnic Albanian coalition VLEN, which has Alternativa among its members, has 14 mandates whereas the left-wing Levica and ZNAM movement have six mandates each.
