October 28 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's power transmission company AD MEPSO said on Wednesday it has signed a contract with Croatian power transmission equipment manufacturer Dalekovod [ZSE:DLKV-R-A] for the reconstruction of the 400/110 kV Bitola 2 substation.
MEPSO will invest 3.18 million euro ($3.7 million) in the reconstruction of the power substation, of which some 2.2 million euro will come from the company's own funds, it said in a statement.
The remainder will be provided through a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The reconstruction is expected to be completed within three years .
The Bitola 2 power substation is directly linked to REK Bitola thermal power plant, the primary source of electricity in North Macedonia. The substation is also connected to Greece's power system through a 400 kV transmission line.
