February 13 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's insurance companies posted combined gross written premiums (GWP) of 12.8 billion denars ($221.8 million/207.7 million euro) in 2022, up from 11.6 billion denars in 2021, data by the country’s Insurance Supervision Agency showed.
Non-life insurance premiums increased 9.15% year-on-year to 10.5 billion denars in 2022, while premiums in the life insurance segment went up 13.72% to 2.3 billion denars, according to figures released by the Insurance Supervision Agency earlier this month.
Triglav Osiguruvanje, part of Slovenian insurance group Triglav, had the largest market share among the non-life insurers in 2022, as its gross written premiums reached 1.5 billion denars.
In the life insurance segment, Croatia Osiguruvanje - Life held the largest market share with gross written premiums of 719.74 million denars in the year under review.
The report includes data on eleven non-life insurers and five life insurers.
