N. Macedonia's gross foreign debt up 13.4% y/y in 2022

March 31 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's gross foreign debt totalled 10.9 billion euro ($11.9 billion) at the end of 2022, up 13.4% year-on-year, the central bank said on Friday.

At the end of 2022, gross foreign debt was equivalent to 84.2% of the gross domestic product projected for that year, the central bank said in a statement.

Compared with the level at end-September, North Macedonia's gross foreign debt was down 2.2% at the end of 2022.

The country's net foreign debt totalled 4.3 billion euro at the end of 2022, up 18.8% on an annual comparison basis.
