January 25 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia posted a budget gap of 38.8 billion denars ($711.1 million/630.4 million euro) in 2021, compared with a deficit of 53.9 billion denars the year before, finance ministry data showed on Tuesday.
Consolidated budget revenues totalled 218.5 billion denars in 2021, compared with 189.7 billion denars in 2020, as tax revenues rose to 1.4 billion denars from 1.2 billion denars, figures showed.
Total expenditures rose to 257.3 billion denars in the year under review, compared with 243.6 billion denars in 2020.
In December alone, North Macedonia's budget was in deficit of 8.8 billion denars, compared with a 13.8 billion denars gap in the same month in 2020.
A deficit of 46.2 billion denars, equivalent to 6.5% of the estimated gross domestic product (GDP), was projected in the country's revised 2021 budget.
