October 25 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's budget was in deficit of 16.1 billion denars ($256 million/260 million euro) in the nine months through September, compared with a 24.6 billion denars gap in the same period last year, finance ministry data showed on Tuesday. Consolidated budget revenue totalled 178.7 billion denars in the January-September period, higher than the revenue of 157.9 billion denars in the like period of 2021, the finance ministry said in a data release. Tax revenues rose to 1.5 billion denars from 889 million denars in the first nine months of 2021, whereas total expenditures increased to 194.7 billion denars from 182.4 billion denars.In September alone, the budget gap widened to 4.9 billion denars from 385 million denars in the same month last year. At the end of 2021, North Macedonia's budget was in deficit of 38.8 billion denars, compared with a 53.9 billion denars gap a year earlier. North Macedonia's government has projected a deficit of 42.7 billion denars in the 2022 budget, equivalent to 5.3% of the projected gross domestic product. (1 euro = 61.78 denars)
