September 22 (SeeNews) - The loan portfolio of North Macedonia's commercial banks rose 9.7% year-on-year to 408.7 billion denars ($6.5 billion/6.6 billion euro) at the end of August, the central bank said. Month-on-month, the banks' loan portfolio was 0.3% lower at the end of August, the central bank said in a statement on Wednesday. Loans to the corporate sector grew 11.9% on the year, reaching 196 billion denars at the end of August, while loans to households came in at 210.6 billion denars, up 7.7% year-on-year.
