December 10 (SeeNews) - Moldova's Constitutional Court said on Thursday it confirmed the results of last month's presidential elections won by Pro-European candidate Maia Sandu.
The decision is final and may not be subject to any appeal, the Constitutional Court said in a press release.
The president's inauguration will be held by the end of the month, according to local media reports.
Maia Sandu resigned as leader and member of the Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) on Thursday, as Moldova's constitution bars the head of state from party membership during the term of office.
According to the final results of the presidential run-off held on November 15, Sandu won 57.72% of the vote, while Socialist president Igor Dodon received 42.28%.
On Monday, the Constitutional Court suspended a recently adopted bill that would have stripped Sandu of control of the country's intelligence service, SIS.
