November 25 (SeeNews) - The gross written premiums (GWP) of Moldovan insurers rose by an annual 26.5% to 1.821 billion lei ($95 million/91 million euro) in the first nine months of 2022, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
Compensation and insurance payments amounted to 628.3 million lei during the January-September period, up 32.5% on the year, the statistical office, BNS, said in a press release.
During the first nine months, Moldovan insurers posted a 221.2 million lei pre-tax profit, up 29.9% as compared to the same period of 2021.
Revenues rose by an annual 40.4% to 2.82 billion lei, while expenses were 41.4% higher on the year at 1.841 billion lei.
In 2021, the GWP of Moldovan insurers rose by an annual 32.5% to 1.926 billion lei.
