February 1 (SeeNews) - Macedonian road hauliers are suffering daily losses of some 100 euro ($107.5) per car and 450 euro per truck tanker after a strike of Greek farmers brought to a standstill cross-border traffic via the Evzoni checkpoint on the Greek-Macedonian border, Skopje-based media reported on Wednesday.
On Monday, Greek farmers parked some 200 tractors on the border crossing, blocking traffic to Thessaloniki.
Truck tankers transporting hazardous substances and trucks loaded with food remain blocked at the border crossing, Macedonian broadcaster Alsat M reported. Road hauliers have called on the Macedonian authorities to redirect trucks to smaller border crossings.
According to state news agency, MIA, Greek protesters have said the border crossing will not be opened before Wednesday evening.
