December 2 (SeeNews) - Greek insulation and plastic materials maker Plastiki said it plans to invest up to 2.5 million euro ($2.7 million) in the next two and a half years into a new manufacturing project in the Macedonian city of Bitola.
Plastiki will employ a total of 150 people at its future production facility, the company owner, Yannis Tirbas, said in a video footage published by Macedonian news website Start.mk.
In the first phase of the project the company plans to invest 500,000 euro and to employ some 30 people.
Manufacturing operations will start at the end of February or in early March, Thirbas said.
The output of Plastiki's Macedonian factory will be exported to the Middle East, Singapore, Cyprus as well as Balkan countries.
Plastiki was established in 1958 in Athens. It produces insulating materials for tunnels, metro stations, water dams and other infrastructural projects.
Bitola, a city of some 75,000, is located in southwestern Macedonia.
