The negative FDI inflow was determined mainly by changes in the prices of financial instruments and fluctuations in currency exchange rates, the BNM said in a data release last week.

Moldova's FDI stock amounted to $5.346 billion at end-March, up 2% on the year but down 3.4% from end-December 2023.

In 2023, FDI inflow into Moldova totalled $587.2 million.
