SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), September 26 (SeeNews) – The largest Chinese shipping company COSCO opened an office in Bosnian capital Sarajevo on Tuesday, its fourth in the region, under Beijing's "One belt - one road" initiative, Bosnian media reported.
COSCO is expected to keep growing in the region, but especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the youngest of its markets, Fena news agency Fena reported late on Tuesday.
"In the past few years, we have recorded growing operations in Bosnia, and we expect this to increase in the coming years. This representative office gives us direct presence in the Bosnian market and will enable us to create additional value for our clients," Fena quoted Meliha Mujezinovic, head of COSCO in Bosnia, as saying.
The "One belt - one road" initiative adopted by the Chinese government aims to revive old and establish new land and sea routes between Asia, Africa and Europe.
China Ocean Shipping Company, known as COSCO or COSCO Group, is a Chinese state-owned shipping and logistics services supplier company. It operates on 362 international and intra-China shipping lines.
