Bosnia's Serb Republic tax revenue up 17% y/y in Jan-May

June 4 (SeeNews) - The tax administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Serb Republic said on Tuesday it collected 1.7 billion marka ($944.5 million/869.2 million euro) in taxes in the January-May period, up 17% compared to the same period a year earlier.

Revenue from direct taxes reached 482.1 million marka in the first five months of the year, up 26% year-on-year, the entity's tax office said in a statement.

Revenue from contributions increased to 1 billion marka in January-May, up by 132.5 million marka compared with the previous year. Other public revenue came in at 227.6 million marka, up by 6% compared with January-May 2023.

In May alone, the Serb Republic collected nearly 300 million marka in taxes, up 11% compared with the same month a year earlier.

The Serb Republic is one of two entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
