Bosnia’s Federation insurers GWPs rise 11.9% y/y in Jan-May

Non-life insurance premiums increased 13.7% on the year to 244.2 million marka in the period under review, while life insurance premiums rose 5.3% to 61 million marka, according to figures posted on the website of the Federation’s insurance supervision agency.

ASA Central Osiguranje was the top insurer in the non-life segment with gross written premiums of 43.8 million marka in the first five months, up from 37 million marka a year earlier. It was followed by Adriatic Osiguranje and Euroherc Osiguranje, with premiums of 35.7 million marka and 31.7 million marka, respectively.

In the life insurance segment, Grawe Osiguranje ranked first with 14 million marka in premiums in January-May, up from 13.5 million marka in the same period of 2023. It was followed by Vienna Osiguranje and Uniqa Osiguranje, with life premiums of 13.4 million marka and 11.8 million marka, respectively.

At the end of May, 19 insurance companies operated in Bosnia’s Federation.

The Federation and the Serb Republic are two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina.
