Non-life insurance premiums increased 11.3% on the year to 445.9 million marka in the January-October period, while life insurance premiums went up 6.7% to 117.8 million marka, according to figures posted on the website of the Federation’s insurance supervision agency.
ASA Central Osiguranje was the top insurer in the non-life segment with gross written premiums of 78.8 million marka in the first ten months, up from 35.2 million marka a year earlier. It was followed by Adriatic Osiguranje and Euroherc Osiguranje, with premiums of 64.7 million marka and 58.4 million marka, respectively.
In the life insurance segment, Sarajevo-based Vienna Osiguranje ranked first with 30.6 million marka in premiums in January-October, up from 23.5 million marka in the same period of 2022. It was followed by Grawe Osiguranje and Uniqa Osiguranje, with life premiums of 25.6 million marka and 24.4 million marka, respectively.
At the end of October, 19 insurance companies operated in Bosnia’s Federation.
The Federation and the Serb Republic are two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina.
