SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), October 8 (SeeNews) – Bosnian Serb nationalist leader Milorad Dodik has kept his seat in the country's tripartite interethnic presidency in Sunday's elections, the electoral commission said after ballots cast in 43.42% of the polling stations were counted. The turnout in the Brcko District was 46.81%, Petric noted. According to the Dayton agreement, Bosnia and Herzegovina is divided into two entities -- the Serb Republic and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, covering 49% and 51% of the country's territory, respectively. The Brcko District, functioning under a decentralised system of local government, was created in 2000, out of land from both entities to reflect its multi-ethnic nature.
