Bosnia examining criminal complaints against c-bank governor - c-bank

The information that the governor or any other employee in the central bank is under investigation is not true, the central bank said in a statement.

Local media outlet Nezavisne reported earlier on Wednesday that Bosnia's prosecutor's office has opened an investigation against Softic on several cases of suspected wrongdoing involving a project for the acquisition of a new office building in Pale by the central bank and a procedure for the purchase of land in Sarajevo, among others.

"In connection with the specific cases that are mentioned, the investigating authorities are examining the allegations from the criminal complaint, which in no case constitutes the initiation of an investigation and the conduct of criminal proceedings," the central bank said.

Softic has held the position of governor of Bosnia's central bank since 2015.
