SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), August 25 (SeeNews) – Austrian insurance group UNIQA said on Thursday its first half pre-tax profit from operations in Bosnia stayed flat on the year at 400,000 euro ($451,600).
Total gross written premiums from Bosnian operations jumped by an annual 17% to 15.1 million euro through June, UNIQA said in its half-year financial report.
Gross written premiums from the non-life insurance segment in Bosnia grew 20% on the year to 7 million euro, while premiums from life insurance added 15% to 8.1 million euro.
In Southeast Europe, UNIQA also operates in Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, and Serbia. Its premiums written in the region - excluding Romania - also remained stable at 141.3 million euro, down 1% compared to the like period a year earlier.
