April 10 (SeeNews) - Turkish diversified holding company Zeren Group has applied for a licence to establish a bank in Montenegro, local media reported.
The request was submitted on March 15 to Montenegro’s central bank (CBCG), with the deadline for a decision in six months, local newspaper Vijesti reported on Tuesday.
Zeren Group announced plans to open a bank in Montenegro after a meeting with central bank governor Irena Radovic in December.
The new bank would be the twelfth in the country and the second with Turkish capital.
Zeren Group already operates three companies in Montenegro. Trading company Zeren Group investment was established in July 2020, while car dealership Zeren Motors and restaurant brand Zeren Food were founded shortly after.
Established in 1973, Zeren Group has eight offices across six countries and strategically focuses on expanding its investments in international markets and ventures, according to its website.
