July 16 (SeeNews) - Turkey's total turnover index encompassing industry, construction, trade and services, went up by an annual 78.4% in May, the country's statistical office said.
In May, the turnover index value increased by 99% year-on-year in industry, by 69.8% in trade, by 74.1% in services and by 50.4% in construction, TurkStat said in a statement earlier this week.
On a monthly comparison basis, the total turnover of Turkey's economy increased by 3.3% in May.
Compared with April, construction turnover rose the most, by 6%, followed by industry and trade which added 4.9% and 2.4%, respectively. Turnover in services climbed up by 1.5% month-on-month in March.
Turnover comprises the totals invoiced by the observation unit, corresponding to market sales of goods or services supplied to third parties.
