August 21 (SeeNews) - Turkish iron and steel products maker Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret [BIST:KRDMA] said it had put in trial operation a 50 megawatt (MW) natural gas-fired power plant.
The plant will reach full commercial capacity by the end of the year, Kardemir said in a statement to Borsa Istanbul on Tuesday.
Kardemir launched the project in 2010 as part of its capacity expansion plans.
The company also has a 22.5 MW hydro power plant which it acquired in 2010 from Akfen Holding.
