March 4 (SeeNews) - Turkey's consumer price index (CPI) increased by 15.61% year-on-year in February, after rising by an annual 15% the month before, the country's statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, Turkey's consumer prices went up by 0.91% in the second month of 2021, after a 1.9% increase in January, TurkStat said in a statement on Wednesday.
The annual rise in consumer prices in February was driven by higher prices of furnishings and household equipment which increased by 23.74%. Transportation services followed with an annual price increase of 22.47%, whereas prices of miscellaneous goods and services added 20.61%.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased the least year-on-year in the review month, by 2.87%.
