September 16 (SeeNews) - Serbia's largest power generating complex, TENT, said on Friday that it will reconnect to the grid a generation unit of its Nikola Tesla B thermal power plant on November 2, following a six-month overhaul.
The works are being carried out as planned and to a satisfactory quality, TENT, part of state-owned energy utility EPS, said in a statement.
The overhaul, which began in May, will increase the capacity of the B2 block by 200,000 working hours and 30 MW to a total of 650 MW, TENT said earlier.
Meanwhile, Belgrade-based media reported on Friday that the 15 million euro ($16.8 million) second phase of overhaul works had been successfully completed at TENT's 120 MW Morava thermal power plant.
The block was synchronized to the network on September 1 and has been operating at full capacity for 15 days, Tanjug news agency quoted TENT manager Marija Stevanovic as saying.
In addition to standard overhaul works, large-scale investments have also been made over the past six months, which will ensure the Morava's uninterrupted operation for the next 10 years.
The first phase of the overhaul was completed in December last year. TENT said at the time that around 50 domestic and foreign companies were working on the 10 million euro first phase.
The coal-fired TENT power generation complex, which comprises also TENT A and Kolubara power plants, has a total installed capacity of 3,288 MW.
