December 1 (SeeNews) - Serbia's trade deficit decreased by 7.5% on the year to 2.8 billion euro ($3.0 billion) in the January-September period, the statistics office said on Thursday.
Exports rose 10.2% on the year to 9.9 billion euro, while imports grew 5.7% to 12.7 billion euro, the statistics office said in a statement.
The export-import ratio increased to 77.9% from 74.7% in the first nine months of 2015.
In September alone, exports increased by an annual 16.9% to 1.2 billion euro, while imports rose 5.0% to 1.5 billion euro.
Serbia’s main export markets in the first nine months of 2016 were Italy and Germany with 1.5 billion euro and 1.31 billion euro worth of exports, respectively, while most imports originated in Germany, Italy, China and Russia.
