December 8 (SeeNews) - Romanian real estate developer Iulius said on Thursday that it opened its second Family Market retail centre in the northwestern city of Iasi, following a 12 million euro ($12.6 million) investment.
The latest Family Market includes a 5,500 sq m retail area and features 26 brands that have generated over 180 new jobs, Iulius said in a press release.
The new location features a McDonald’s drive-thru restaurant, a 2,000 sq m Auchan supermarket, as well as fashion and home decoration brands, dining and fresh food venues, and health and beauty stores.
In addition to the retail space, the Family Market offers 5,000 sq m of green space and 151 parking spaces and facilities for cyclists, along with electric charging stations.
With over 20 years of real estate experience, Iulius operates a retail portfolio of over 310,000 sq m, through two mixed-use urban regeneration projects in Iasi and Timisoara and its regional shopping malls in Iasi, Cluj-Napoca and Suceava. In the office segment, Iulius operates 14 green buildings totalling 182,000 sq m, 80 head offices and over 20,000 employees.
In April, Iulius said that it plans to invest around 500 million euro in a mixed-use project in the northwestern city of Cluj-Napoca, with works expected to start at the beginning of 2023.
