November 2 (SeeNews) - The net inflow of foreign direct investment (FDI) in Kosovo decreased 45% year-on-year in August, falling to 25.4 million euro ($28.15 million), according to central bank data.
In July, Kosovo posted a positive FDI flow of 37.8 million euro.
The sectors that attracted the biggest volume of investments by non-residents in August were real estate with 19 million euro and construction with 15.7 million euro, according to figures posted on the central bank's website .
The biggest amount of inbound investments, 16 million euro, originated from Great Britain in August. At the opposite side were FDI outflows to Austria totalling 15.3 million euro.
By comparison, remittances to Kosovo reached 98.6 million euro in August.
In the first eight months of the year, net FDI inflow to Kosovo totalled 148 million euro, compared to 237.8 million euro in the like period last year and remittances of 498.4 million euro for the January-August period of 2016.
