December 2 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's government said it has decided to ask parliament to approve an extension by six months of the state of crisis imposed on the entire territory of the country due to the coronavirus pandemic .
The government accepted the proposal by the steering committee for coordination and management of the crisis management system to suggest to North Macedonia's assembly to approve the continuation of the state of crisis until June 30, 2021, it said in a statement on Tuesday.
The steering committee for coordination and management of the crisis management system is a government body composed of several ministers and members of government, including the interior minister, the health minister and the defense minister.
North Macedonia's government declared a 30-day state of crisis on the entire territory of the country due to the coronavirus pandemic on November 20.
On Tuesday, North Macedonia confirmed 1,069 new Covid-19 cases and 29 deaths due to the disease, health ministry data shows. So far, 62,945 people have tested positive to the disease and 1,792 have died from it.
