April 9 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's state-controlled power utility Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) [MNG:EPCG] said its net profit soared to 52.4 million euro ($56.9 million) in 2023, from 4 million euro in the previous year.
The company recorded an operating profit of 65.9 million euro for 2023, compared to an operating profit of 5 million euro in 2022, it said in a press release on Monday.
The announcement of the final results is pending a review by an external auditor and will be announced in the coming weeks, EPCG said.
Last month, the company's board of directors head, Milutin Djukanovic, said the company expected to post a pre-tax profit of between 70 and 80 million euro for 2023 in a record year for the company.
The Montenegrin government owns 88.7% of EPCG.
