February 24 (SeeNews) - Moldova's construction output rose by an annual 3.7% in 2020, the country's statistical office, BNS, said.
The value of all construction works performed under contract during January-December 2020 reached 14 billion lei ($798 million/657 million euro), BNS said in a press release on Monday.
New construction works constituted 47.1% of the total volume of works executed in 2020, amounting to 6.6 billion lei. New construction works volume fell by an annual 3.4% in 2020.
During 2020, capital repair and maintenance works increased by 5.7% and 18.5% respectively, compared to the level recorded in 2019.
The volume of works performed on residential buildings during 2020 decreased by 6.4%, on non-residential buildings decreased by 5.9%, while those on engineering constructions jumped by an annual 17.4%
