August 24 (SeeNews) - Air passenger traffic via Macedonia’s international airports in Skopje and Ohrid rose by 22.5% to a total of 1,008,435 in the first seven months of the year, the transport ministry said on Wednesday.
The number of the passengers handled by the Alexander The Great airport in the capital Skopje, the country's largest airport, rose by 20.4% to 775,177 in the January-July period, the ministry said in a statement.
Passengers at the Saint Paul airport in the lakeside resort of Ohrid jumped 55.9% to 75,305 in the eight-month period.
Most of the passengers flew from or to Munich, Cologne, Rome, Gothenburg, Ljubljana and Frankfurt.
The two airports are run by Turkish airport operator TAV.
