November 23 (SeeNews) - Kosovo's trade deficit decreased by 5.5% year-on-year to 267 million euro ($317 million) in October, as exports increased more than imports, the country's statistical office said.
Exports rose by 57% on the year to 50.6 million euro in the month under review, whereas imports edged up by an annual 1% to 317.6 million euro, the Kosovo Agency of Statistics said in a monthly economic report on Friday.
Kosovo's main export destinations in October were Albania, Germany and Switzerland. Base metals, plastic and rubber products and various manufactured articles were Kosovo's main export items.
Machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment, food, beverages and tobacco and base metals made up the bulk of Kosovo's imports in October. Most of the imports originated in Turkey, Germany and China.
