September 19 (SeeNews) - Italian steel structure manufacturer Tecnostrutture has opened a 3.5 million euro ($3.9 million) plant in the southern Serbian town of Zrenjanin, the government in Belgrade has said.
The plant will produce steel structures for the construction of bridges, airports, stadiums, major shopping centers and industrial buildings, the government said in a statement following an opening ceremony held in Zrenjanin on Saturday.
The greater part of the plant's output will be sold on international markets, according to the statement.
The town authorities said last year that the plant's output will be exported to Ukraine and Russia, where the company has already secured buyers.
The plant will employ 20 workers in the first phase of the project and plans to hire an additional 80 in the future.
