"The launch of Greenvolt Next Romania represents a natural step in the growth of the Group’s pan-European self-consumption platform. Leveraging on the experience that Greenvolt already has in the wind and solar utility scale in Romania, we recognize that there’s a strong Renewable Energy Solutions potential in the country," Greenvolt Group CEO Joao Manso Neto said.
Greenvolt Group first entered Romania in 2021, through subsidiary Greenvolt Power, focused on utility scale wind, solar and energy storage projects. In 2022, Greenvolt bought a 45 MWp photovoltaic park in Romania, which was valued at 83 million euro.
Greenvolt comprises three main companies focused on different technologies - Greenvolt Biomass, which produces energy from sustainable biomass forest residues and urban wood waste; Greenvolt Power, a developer of utility scale projects; and Greenvolt Next.
