BELGRADE (Serbia), July 30 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia in the first half of 2021 declined 0.7% on the year to 263,774, statistical office data showed.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in Serbia grew 7.8% year-on-year, to 785,429 in the first six months.
In June alone, a total of 81,520 foreign tourists visited Serbia, up from only 24,441 in June 2020.
Bosnia and Herzegovina was Serbia's biggest feeder market in the first half of 2021, with 39,413 tourists, up 59.7% on the year. Citizens of the Russian Federation followed, with a total of 25,371 visits, up 118.8%. Visitors from North Macedonia came third, up 52% to 23,746.
The number of domestic tourists increased by 40.8% on the year to 725,202 in the first half of 2021, taking the total number of tourists to 988,976, up 26.7%.
