October 19 (SeeNews) - Turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) tripled on Wednesday on the back of trading in the shares of financial leasing company Elana Agrocredit [BUL:0EA], stock exchange data showed.
Elana Agrocredit, a constituent of BGBX40 index, generated 43% of the daily turnover as 222,132 shares traded at an average price of 1.220 levs, data published on the BSE website indicated. The company's shares closed 0.81% lower at 1.220 levs.
Turnover on the BSE tripled to 635,900 levs ($356,200/324,900 euro) from 210,196 levs on Tuesday.
Diversified conglomerate Industrial Holding Bulgaria (IHB) [BUL:4ID] led the blue-chip gainers. IHB closed 4.77% higher at 0.856 levs with 1,000 shares changing hands during the trading session.
Real estate investment fund Advance Terrafund [BUL:6A6] led the blue-chip decliners, falling 0.25% to 2.007 levs in a turnover of 7,191 shares.
Central Cooperative Bank [BUL:4CF] was the most traded blue chip on Wednesday with 16,403 shares changing hands. The company shares closed at 1.084 levs, up by 0.46%.
The blue-chip SOFIX index added 0.28% to 506.31 points after edging down 0.27% on Tuesday.
The broader BGBX40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares, gained 0.18% to 96.33 points after dropping 0.35% in the previous session.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of the real estate investment trusts, edged down 0.06% to 103.33 after losing 0.01% on Tuesday.
The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, fell 0.24% to 404.51 points. In the previous trading session, the index closed 0.37% lower.
