March 29 (SeeNews) - Croatia collected 14.6 billion euro ($15.7 billion) in revenue from foreign tourists in 2023, up from 13.1 billion euro in the previous year, the central bank said on Friday.
The revenue from international visitors rose to 19.6% of the estimated gross domestic product last year, compared to 17.6% of GDP in 2022, the central bank said in a press release.
In the last quarter of 2023 alone, the revenue from foreign tourists increased to 1.633 billion euro, from 1.473 billion euro in the same period of 2022.
The tourism sector plays a pivotal role in the Croatian economy.
