April 16 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer prices increased by 4.1% on the year in March, after rising at the same rate in both February and January, the statistical office said on Tuesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.9% in March, after adding 0.2% in February, the Bureau of Statistics said, confirming its initial estimate from April 3.
In March, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 4.5% year-on-year, while transportation costs increased by 5.2%, healthcare costs climbed 5.6% and prices of hotels and restaurants jumped 10.7%.
Measured by the EU-harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), prices of goods and services for personal consumption in Croatia increased by an average 4.9% year-on-year in March. On a monthly comparison basis, HICP rose by an estimated 0.9% in March.
Croatia reported a 4.8% annual rise and a 0.3% monthly increase in HICP in February.
Croatia's average annual inflation slowed down to 8% last year from 10.8% in 2022.
